Happy Valentine’s Day!! This isn’t really a “Valentine’s” post… but I do love wine and Valentine’s Day is about love after all so I think it’s perfectly acceptable for today. Also, for those of you who know me, it might seem a little strange for my first wine post to be about a non-California wine. We do love our California wines here at the Mitchell residence. But this Ciabot Berton Barbera D’Alba Fisetta from Piemonte, Italy is one of our new favorites.
We had it for the first time at the Holiday Tasting Event at BottleRock Downtown LA. We bought two bottles specifically for our wine exchange party. This was my contribution and I’m proud to say that it was the first wine that was picked out of 17 wines! After the party we went back to BottleRock to get more. It’s definitely a wine that I want to have on hand. It’s very easy to drink on its own but would be great if you wanted to pair it with some charcuterie or pasta.
Since it’s only Tuesday, you have the rest of the week to go out and get this wine to enjoy over the weekend! It’s priced very reasonably at around $20.00 so it won’t break the bank. You really should go out and get a bottle or two. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
